About – European Data Protection: Post pandemic effects and new dimensions

The Executive Agency “Education, Audiovisual and Culture” of the European Commission with an official letter and with a plaque “Jean Monnet Module 2021-2024” awarded the SWU “Neofit Rilski” of Applied Sciences through the Faculty of Law and History as a symbol of quality in education in European integration and evidence of the achievements of project No. 101047808 entitled “European Data Protection: Post pandemic effects and new dimensions” (EDP-PPEND) in this area.

This plaque symbolizes and visualizes the eponymous project as an action of the “Jean Monnet” initiative in the field of higher education, presenting it as a focal point inside and outside the institution to promote European research.

In the Faculty of Law and History of SWU “Neofit Rilski” during the previous academic year 2021/2022 summer semester, lectures and practical training were held on the subject “Protection of personal data in the EU and third countries” in “Law” specialties, “International Relations”, “National Security” and “Finance”. The Faculty of Law and History in SWU “Neofit Rilski” is the first faculty that offers its students the study of such an up-to-date course. The project is implemented by a team from the Faculty of Law and History and the Faculty of Economics of SWU “Neofit Rilski” as follows Assoc. Prof. Nikolay Marin, Ph.D. – project leader, Prof. Gabriela Belova, Ph.D., Prof. Preslav Dimitrov, Ph.D., Assistant Professor Anna Hristova, Ph.D., Assistant Professor Maria Pascaleva, Ph.D. Assistant Professor Yordanka Noneva-Zlatkova, Ph.D., Antoanela Vaneva and Bilyana Mladenova.

SWU “Neofit Rilski” stands out as a contact point for the promotion of European research, as within the implementation of project No. 101047808 entitled “European Data Protection: Post pandemic effects and new dimensions” (EDP-PPEND), which is implemented with the financial support of the “Erasmus +” Program 2021-2027, action under the “Jean Monnet” initiative in the field of higher education, as well as in any other field of education related to European integration.
